Baby Love - 1 Month

My Dear Charlotte Faye,

You are ONE MONTH OLD!

This month has been both the fastest and longest month.  It seems like only yesterday, Daddy and I were headed to the hospital.  And at the same time, it seems like you have been part of our family for much longer than a month.  We are so blessed that you are ours, Sweet Charlotte.

What are your stats and what does the doctor say
We haven't been to see Dr. Chris since your two week check-up.  So, unofficially, you weigh 9 lbs and you are 22 inches long.  You have grown so much in such a short amount of time.

What are you eating?
We are having trouble finding a formula that sits well on your belly.  We have tried Enfamil Newborn, Enfamil Gentlease, and Similac Total Comfort...none of these have worked.  Tonight, we gave you Enfamil ProSoBee.  So far, so good.  You are eating 3oz bottles every three - four hours.

When do you sleep and eat?
For a newborn, Daddy and I think you are sleeping very well at night!  You get a bath and your bedtime bottle between 9:30 and 10:00pm.  You have been sleeping until about 2:00am.  You wake up and take a bottle.  For Mommy, you go right back to sleep.  (You don't do this so well for Daddy...)  Then, you are up again between 5:30-6:00am.  After you eat, we go back to bed and Daddy goes to work.  You wake up again around 9:00am.  This bottle has been upsetting your little tummy.  You have been staying awake (and mostly crying -- which breaks Mommy's heart) until your next bottle at noon.  By this point, you are so tuckered out (from all the crying) that you go to sleep.  You take a nice nap and wake up again around 3:00pm to eat.  Some days you will sleep again after this bottle and some days you cry.  You eat again between 6:30-7:00pm.  Daddy gives you this bottle and you love snuggling with him.

What do your routines look like?
Right now, your routines are based on eating and sleeping.  During the day, you like to take a nap in your swing.  In the evenings, you are a Daddy's girl.  You love rocking with him in the recliner.  You get a bath every night.  You really like the warm water, but you don't much care for the washing part.  You especially don't like getting out of the warm water!

What size clothes and diapers are you wearing?
You are wearing mostly Newborn and some 0-3 months clothes.  You are wearing Newborn diapers.

What are some things you love?
You love being snuggled.  You love the warm bath water.  You love your Rock 'n' Play.  You love riding in the car.  You love Gripe Water

What are some things you don't love?
You do not really care for a pacifier (unless it has Gripe Water on it).  You don't like when the music on your swing goes off.  You definitely do not love it when your tummy hurts.

What can you do?
You are only a month old -- so basically you eat and sleep.  But, you do like to hold your head up like a big girl.

Who has visited and watched you?
Besides family, you met your new friend Brooks this month.  Next week, you will meet your new friend Emmi.  Soon, Baby Molly will be here!  You are a lucky girl to have so many friends so close in age!

What are some of your nicknames?
Daddy and I call you Sis, Sister, Little Miss, Miss Priss, Sweet Girl and C.
Your cousin L calls you Baby Charlotte.
Your cousin D calls you Char-Char.
Mimi calls you Princess.
These are just a few...you have lots of nicknames!

What are we looking forward to in the next month?
Before you turn two months:
* We are going to have another play date with Brooks.
* You will meet Miss Emmi.
* You will go to your first party!  L is turning three and having a Cowboy Party!

  1. I loved this. I was about to ask you if the blog was over but when I turned it on tonight there you were again. I love seeing Charlotte with you and Jeremy. I love all Three of you. Keep up the great job. I know how hard it is when her tummy is upset but keep switching until you find something she can tolerate. There will be one that she will like. Promise. GUESS WHO
